Darlene was an amazing artist who enjoyed drawing and painting. Some of her favorite activities included singing, crocheting, sewing, cooking, baking, and reading. She was known as ‘mom’ to both of her daughter’s many friends and ‘grandma’ to all of her grandchildren’s friends. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were the absolute light of her life.
Darlene is survived by her daughters Melissa Hooker and Brenda Hooker; grandsons Christopher Elkins and David Weaver; her friend for over 60 years Dolores Thomas and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years Elzie Hooker, Brother Charles Trapp; parents Albert and Gertrude Trapp.
Darlene will be laid to rest on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery 1333 S Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL.
