"Mettie Carpenter Succumbs June 15
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Rapelje for Mettie Carpenter, 94, who passed away in Billings June 15. Burial was at the Rapelje cemetery. Mettie Carpenter was born Dec. 25, 1864 at Kewonee, Wis., where she married Delbert carpenter. They moved to Choteau in 1909. later moving to the Rapelje area. Rev. Arvid Lindley of the E.U.B. Church in Rapelje gave the sermon. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dahlman sang "Rock of Ages" and "What a Friend we Have in Jesus". Pallbearers were Wm. Hoagland, Ernie Hoagland, Bud Hart, Roy Bondurant, Claude Marsh and Henry Doely."
