He resided in Tri-City and Myrtle Creek until his retirement as a millwright. In the lumber industry and later as a mechanic for a railroad contractor, after retirement, he and his wife, Patty lived in Arizona eight months out of the year and spent their summers in Myrtle Creek. While in Arizona, David was very active in the Mission of St. Vincent De Paul.
David is survived by his wife Patty; his parents, Twyla and Wally Dancer; sister and her husband, Karen and Tony Rush; son, Doug Dancer and his wife Mary and five grandchildren; his son, Bruce Dancer; step-daughter, Michelle Hanson and her husband Bill and three grandchildren; and many other loving family members.
A celebration of life will be held at the Civil Bend Pioneer Cemetery in Winston, Oregon, on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at 10:00 am. Following the service, there will be a luncheon at Mars Garden Chinese Restaurant in Winston, for all those who wish to attend.
