Annie Eliza Bohannon was born in a farm in Grundy County, Iowa, October 28, 1870, and passed away January 2, 1944 at her home on the East Lake Shore at the age of 73 years. She was married December 6, 1889 to George Ely Scott and to this union a son and two daughters were born.

Early in her married life, Mrs. Scott was widowed and in 1910 moved to Idaho to care for her aged parents who then resided on a ranch near Leadore, Idaho. After the death of her parents she and a younger brother, Ray, carried on the ranching operations.

In 19267, she went to Oregon and for two years lived with her daughter there. In 1929, she came to the East Lake shore to live at the home of her nephew, Lee Bohannon and since that time has taken her place in the community as a kind, helpful neighbor to all.

Her son, Major George H. Scott, died in the service in 1924 and a grandson, George H. Scott Jr, was lost in action at Pearl Harbor.

Mrs. Scott leaves to mourn her death two daughters, Mrs. Jean Bollar of Albert Lea, Minnesota, and Mrs. Nellie E. Sha of Klamath Falls, Oregon, a grandson, Kenneth A. Scott in the Air Corps, a brother, Ray Bohannon and a nephew, Lee Bohannon, both of whom live on the Lake Shore. Also a host of friends and neighbors.

Early in life, she affiliated with the Methodist Church and was a member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge and a Gold Star Mother of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Several years ago, she was stricken with a heart ailment and in spite of this condition carried on a full active life until the very day of her death. She was ever thoughtful of the pleasure and happiness of others, regardless of her own constant pain and suffering. She was a loving mother and a kind and faithful friend to all who knew her and will be greatly missed in the home and community.
