On March 10 1957, she married Bobby Wayne Capps in Joplin, MO in the Greenwood community. Together they had a son and a daughter, both of whom were born on October 10th (5 years apart).
Before Norma was married, she worked in the egg plant of Neosho MO and in later years owned a beauty shop named Designs of Distinction in Joplin MO (1986-2003). Her hobbies included talking on the CB radio in the 70's with the handle of Queen Bee; playing Bunco; going on day trips to Silver Dollar City and other touristy places in the Four State area. She also loved raising pet chickens.
She is survived by her son of Macon Georgia and her daughter and son-in-law of Granby Mo; one granddaughter, one great granddaughter and one great grandson of Joplin Mo; one sister of Neosho Mo and a brother of Missouri. She is also survived by two nieces and five nephews as well as four "adopted" grandkids of San Antonio Texas, three "adopted" grandkids of the Joplin Mo area, one "adopted" grandkid of the Neosho area and another in Iowa.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Joe Dean Crowder, Blaine Dale Crowder, Evert Don Crowder, Benny Paul Crowder and Clifford Crowder as well as one niece, Beverly Ann Crowder Caulk.
My mother's mother died on January 4th (my mother's birthday) and since 1994 I had a strange feeling that my mother would one day die on my birthday. And she did: October 10.
