Martha Ann Goins, born September 8, 1952, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, October 8th, 2018. Ann attended McMinn County High School. She was preceded in death by her parents Grover and Edna Hennessee, and her sister Rita McAmis, all of Athens.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Larry Goins; son Eric Goins and his wife Maycie and their four children Logan, Jackson, Gracelyn, and Averie; son Kevin Goins and his wife Allison and their five children Karaline, Carter, Cooper, Cole, and Cam; sister Dean McCosh and her husband Larry; James Hennessee and his wife Kathy; several nieces and nephews.

Ann Goins loved to serve people. She lived her whole life in the Clearwater and Tranquility communities. She absolutely adored her family and spared no effort or expense in making sure that they always felt loved. Huge family meals were her passion and specialty, and her children and grandchildren always knew they could count on mamaw to whip up a feast made to order at the drop of a hat. She served her church family at Mt.Verd Baptist Church often by preparing food and she was always involved in everything that the church had going. She served her community for twenty-five plus years by founding and operating Goins’ Creations Florist. She loved catering meals, arranging flowers, and helping people plan their dream weddings. She loved to travel and see the world. She walked miles at a time on the beach and she loved watching sunsets from balconies on cruise ships or balconies overlooking the beach. She will be greatly missed by her family, as well as anyone else that was lucky enough to call her a friend.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Mt. Verd Baptist Church from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The funeral service will follow and will be officiated by Pastor Donnie Dalton, Pastor Mitch Isbill, and Pastor Danny Singleton. Burial will be Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Valley Road Cemetery at 11:00 am. Chris McCosh, Dave Akens, Hayden Akens, Hunter Akens, Charlie Barnes, Matt Curtis, Jordan Isbill, and Jonathan Isbill will serve the family as Pall Bearers.
