Myrna Sue Schloneger Piper, 73 a resident of Harrisonburg passed away October 13, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Piper was born November 17, 1944 in Louisville, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Alvin W. and Gladys H. Schloneger. Myrna graduated from Central Christian School in Kidron, Ohio in 1962 and attended Hesston College in Hesston, Kansas in 1962-63. She was a member of Zion Mennonite Church in Broadway, Va. where she taught in the children’s Sunday School department and was one of the founding editors of the newsletter, Windows Into Zion. Myrna was employed by Eastern Mennonite School in the Alumni Relations office for 23 years.

On March 19, 1966 she married Ronald E. Piper who survives.

Also surviving are her children, Jenni Leigh of Harrisonburg, Va., and Michael Jon and wife Sarah of Broadway, Va.; one sister Carol Schrock Ropp and husband Bill of Orrville, Oh.; one brother, Stanley Schloneger and wife Alma of Louisville, Oh; and grandchildren Jonathan and Kate Piper.

Mrs. Piper was preceded in death by one sister Janet Lehman of Kidron, Oh.

A Memorial Service will be held at Zion Mennonite Church in Broadway, Va. at a later date.

The body was cremated.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Eastern Mennonite School, 801 Parkwood Dr, Harrisonburg, VA 22802.
