Songwriter. Best known for authoring the hit singles, "A Good Year for the Roses," and "T-R-O-U-B-L-E." His compositions were recorded by an eclectic range of musicians including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, and Loretta Lynn. The 1968 piece, "Another Place, Another Time," as recorded by rock n' roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis, received a Grammy nomination. In 1996, Chestnut was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
