Ronald Dale James Sr, age 77, of Bradford, died Monday, December 17, 2018 at Versailles Health Care Center. He was born February 21, 1941 in Parsons, WV to the late Marvin James & Mary (Simmons) Sturms; a graduate of Parsons High School, Class of 1959; a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam Era; worked as a carpenter for most of his life & later in life worked for the Hedrick family business, Steelial Construction Company; a member of Eagles, Aerie 936 in Davis, WV; took pride in his Cherokee Indian Heritage; loved NASCAR, traveling, candy, but most of all he was a hardworking man who loved being a wonderful father, husband & grandfather to his family.

Preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Alma Louise James in 1995; daughter, Rhonda Crowl; brother, Danny Sturms; sister, Ruth Lee Epperson; & step sister, Martha Simmons.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Schulze; 4 sons, Ronald Dale James Jr of WV, Randall (Marta) James of Lockington, Ross (Candice) James of Fruitlands, UT, Ricky (Janae) James of Piqua; step children, Natalie Schulze of Marysville & Patrick (Jessie) Schulze of Archbold; son-in law, Fred Crowl of Davis,WV; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; half-brother, Rick James; sister, Brenda Shoe of Minneapolis; step sister, Mary Swartz of Parsons, WV; 2 half-sisters, Joy Sturms & Sheila Johnson, both of Piqua; a cousin who was like a brother, Larry Hedrick & family; & many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 11 am at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor John Shelton officiating. Interment of cremains to follow at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors provided by V.E.T.S. Visitation to be held 9 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heifer International, 1 World Ave, Little Rock, AR 72202.
