Yginia (no surname) was born at Chumash ranchería Nilaluyu in what is now Santa Barbara County, California, about 1801. She was about 12 years old when she assumed her Christian name upon her baptism at Mission La Purísima Concepción February 5, 1814 (LPC Baptism 02684). She was the daughter of Chumash neophytes Benvenuto "Alicsapuiaitset" (no surname; LPC Baptism 02685) and "Tecla" (no surname; LPC Baptism 02675). She married Chumash neophyte carpenter Sebastián (no surname) at Mission La Purísima Concepción on September 4, 1815 (LPC Marriage 00797). Yginia died just six months later and was buried in the mission cemetery (first location) on March 31, 1816 (LPC Death 01693).
