John Wayne “Butch” Adkins, 63, of South Point, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, KY. He was born September 17, 1955 in Huntington, WV. He was a retired salesman and an active member of the Church of the Harvest and he loved the Lord. He loved going to and watching NASCAR, watching the Minnesota Vikings and his Ohio State Buckeyes. He was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Ruth Adkins and his father James Bruce Adkins; sister Karen Adkins; and brother James “Jim” Adkins. He is survived by his loving wife Rita Adkins; sister Teresa (Tony) Gibson of New Bern, NC; two brothers Jesse (Mary) Adkins of South Point, Ohio and Justin Adkins of Cleveland, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2019 at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake, Ohio. Burial will follow in Burlington Greenlawn Cemetery, South Point, Ohio.
