CHARLIE BOGAN OF GREER DIES
Hit By Train While He Was Crossing Tracks At Greer Last Saturday

GREER, Mar. 22 -- Charlie Vass Bogan, 54, who was hit by a Southern train at Greer early last Saturday morning, died at Spartanburg hospital last night at 10:10 o'clock.
Mr. Bogan was crossing the Southern tracks at Greer when he was struck by the passing train, was injured and was rushed to Spartanburg hospital. He made his home in Greer and was employed by the Victor mills.
Surviving are his widow who before marriage was Miss Ella Wolf, and the following children, Miss Maybell Bogan, Greenville; Charlie Bogan, Jr., Greer; five step-children, Howard Wall, C. B. Wall, Claude D. Wall, Mrs. Ruby Taylor, and Annie Lois Wall, all of Greer; six brothers, P. B. Bogan, and T. B. Bogan Bogan, Greenville; J. G. Bogan, Greer; J. A. Bogan and J. L. Bogan, Spartanburg; D. R. Bogan, Arlington; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Harmon, Spartanburg.
Mr. Bogan was for several years a member of the Methodist church.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11 o'clock at the Victor Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. W. H. Lewis and the Rev. A. H. Bauknight. Interment will follow in Mountain View cemetery in Greer.
Pallbearers will be: M. R. Casey, Martin Tooke, Joe Hardin, P. J. Dill, C. L. Dobbins, Robert Waldrop, Reese Sherrill and Raymond Dill.
Coroner John S. Turner of Spartanburg, made an investigation and announced that an inquest would not be necessary.
Pending the hour of services the body will be at the late home at the Victor mills.
