Jean Sledd Gearheart, 78 of Vinton, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 22, 2019 after a long struggle with COPD and other medical issues. Jean was a faithful member of The Church of God for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mildred (Sis) Wiseman; her first husband, Charles E. Sledd, Sr.; and her daughter, Selena Sledd Huddleston.

Surviving are her son, Charles E. Sledd, Jr (Robyn); daughter, Amanda Sledd Kesler (David); son, David Gearheart, II; seven grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Diane Lyle (Carl), Connie Mabry; one brother, Barry Wiseman; husband of 39 years, David Gearheart I.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday March 26 from Oakey's Vinton Chapel, with Bishop Billy Cox, Bishop Lanny Carter, and Reverend Connie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Monday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
