Mary Jane Wilson Couzens of Brewster, MA, a former Westchester County resident and wife of the late Westchester County Court Judge, John C. Couzens, died yesterday at Quincy Medical Center in Quincy, MA as the result of a brief illness. Mrs. Couzens was the sister of former New York Governor Malcolm Wilson. She was a homemaker and the mother of seven children, moving to her retirement home on Cape Cod, MA in 1981. Mrs. Couzens was born January 22, 1920 in Yonkers, NY, to Charles H. and Agnes Egan Wilson. She grew up and attended schools in Yonkers. She graduated from the College of Mount St. Vincent in 1941, earning a degree in English. In 1947, she married John C. Couzens, also of Yonkers, and together they raised their family in Yonkers, NY. Mrs. Couzens was an active volunteer at both Yonkers General and Saint John's Hospitals, and was an active member of the parish of Christ the King. Mrs. Couzens' husband, who predeceased her in 1980, was a Westchester County Court Judge from 1972 to 1980. Mrs. Couzens is survived by a daughter, Jane Lavendier, of Brewster, MA; five sons, Gerald S. of New York City, John C. of Ossining, NY, Malcolm W. of White Plains, NY, Mark P. of Clinton, NY, Nicholas J. of Santa Barbara, CA; a brother, Malcolm Wilson of New Rochelle, NY; and 15 grandchildren. Mrs. Couzens was predeceased by her beloved son, Douglas C. in 1995. Her sister, Agnes Irene Baker, and a brother, Donald C. Wilson, a trial lawyer, also died earlier. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Visiting Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass at Christ the King Church, Yonkers, NY on Thursday at 10 am. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery.
