"Carlow Rites Will Be Held On Wednesday"
Mrs. John Carlow, 63, a lifetime resident of the Clay-Ray area passed away Monday afternoon at her home at 701 Highland, Excelsior Springs. She had been seriously ill for the past year.
Funeral services will be held at the Woods Memorial Christian church at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and burial will follow in Crown Hill cemetery. Rev. Brady Brown, pastor, will officiate and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Snyder will sing at the funeral rites. Pallbearers will be Hugh Woods, Floyd Lee, Golden Duncan, Gilbert O'Dell, Harold Bailey, and Harold Potter. The body will lie in state at the Hope funeral home until the time of services.
Mrs. Carlow, nee Ella Elsie Potter, was born in Ray county January 30, 1883. She came to Excelsior Springs in 1901 and in 1903 was married to John Henry Carlow in a ceremony performed at Liberty.
Surviving are the husband of the home; one son, Jessie, Excelsior Springs; five brothers, C.E. Potter of Los Angeles, Calif., and Grover, Jim, Preston, and Clifton Potter, all of Excelsior Springs; one sister, Mrs. Gertie Piercy, Excelsior Springs; two grandchildren, Doris Jean and Robert Earl Carlow, Excelsior Springs.
Mrs. Carlow belonged to the Woodman's Circle and for 47 years was a member of the Woods Memorial Christian church.
