PFC Jason E. Dore of Moscow, Maine attended Upper Kennebec Valley High School in Bingham before graduating from the Penobsco Job Corps in Bangor. He enlisted in the Army in 2005 and re-enlisted just two weeks prior to his death. While growing up in the Moscow area, he enjoyed sports and being outdoors and fishing at Hunter's Pond in Bingham. His awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, Army Service Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Jason was predeceased by his brother Jeremy V. Dore; and his paternal grandfather, Joseph V. Dore. He died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device at age 25.
