Vivian W. Fahnestock Noss, 96, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019 in the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.
She was born on November 5, 1922 in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Jacob M. and Jessie E. (Peck) Weary.
Vivian was the widow of Clair W. Fahnestock who died in 1965 and Ralph E. Noss who died in 1992.
Vivian retired from the former Bedford Shoe Co., Carlisle and had also worked at the former U-Wanna-Wash Frocks in Newville.
She was a member of the St. Mary’s United Methodist Church in Bloserville. Vivian was a member of the Newville Golden Age Club, Farm Women No. 7, Newville and the Mifflin Grange Club. Vivian enjoyed sewing of all kinds from making stuffed animals to sewing eye glass holders for hospital patients.
She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie R. (husband, Robert Jr.) Lindsay of Newville, one sister, Anna Elizabeth Stonesifer of Carlisle, one stepson, Robert Noss of Newville, one daughter-in-law, Elaine Fahnestock of Carlisle, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and several step-grandchildren.
Vivian was preceded in death by one son, C. William Fahnestock, two brothers; Jesse Jacob Weary and Robert Kenneth Weary, one sister, Grace W. Steele and one stepson, James Noss.
A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2019 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Roger Yoder officiating.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Newville.
