Nancy M. Abdoo, 86, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, died Friday, June 13, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Mrs. Abdoo was born August 25, 1921 in Poughkeepsie, the daughter of Saverio and Rosaria Ferrante Eramo.
Mrs. Abdoo worked for Vassar College for many years up until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of St. Ann's Society, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Mothers Club, Ladies Auxiliary of the Italian Center, Victory Lodge, Retirees of Western Publishing, and the Queen City Seniors.
On October 29, 1950, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie, she married Michael Joseph Abdoo. He predeceased her on March 21, 1998.
Survivors include her daughter, Michelle (Robert) Anderson; granddaughter, Rachel; a brother, Patrick Eramo; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; a great-nephew; and great-great-nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Vincent Eramo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 17, 2008, 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie. Entombment will follow in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
