Lorenzo David Norris, Sr. was born in February of 1870 in Horry County, South Carolina, the son of Daniel Marsden “Frank” Norris and Mary Ann Hubbart Norris. Lorenzo married Louisa Catherine "Luranie" Neely Norris, and they had eight children: Anna Glenwood "Annie" Norris Turner, Mary L. Norris, Edmund J. “Eddie” Norris, James William Norris, Mary Ann Norris Todd, Earl "Earlie” Norris, John Ansel Norris, and Lorenzo David Norris, Jr. Lorenzo, Sr. died at age 51 on July 7, 1921 in Dillon County, South Carolina. His death certificate indicates he is buried in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Dillon County, South Carolina, probably near his daughter Mary Norris Todd.
