Parents are Floyd and Mignon (Coones) Cole of 410 South Fulton in Carthage, Missouri. The infant was delivered at the home by Dr. Russell Smith and he indicated on the death certificate that he was a macerated fetus, cause unknown.
He was buried October 11, 1937 in Park Cemetery under the direction of Ulmer-Drake Funeral Home.

Maceration is the term used to describe autolytic changes which occur when the fetus remains in utero after its demise (Strachan 1922). It follows, therefore, that most of these deaths will have occurred antepartum, and most, but not all, antepartum deaths will have signs of maceration.
