Mr. John G. Douthitt, age 82 of Des Plaines, IL and formerly of Clarksville, TN and Wingo, KY., passed away at 9:24 A.M., Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Lutheran General Hospital in Des Plaines, Il. He was a former pilot for U.S. Air in Denver, Co., a retired Air Force Pilot serving in the United States Air Force. He flew 52 missions in Vietnam., served as an elder for Central Church of Christ in Charlotte, TN and Warfield Boulevard Church of Christ in Clarksville, TN. He is survived by his wife: Jean Smith Douthitt, two sons; Dr. Paul (Kathy) Douthitt, Collierville, TN. and Blake (Jennifer) Douthitt, Clarksville, TN., one step son; Mike (Amy) Davis, Parkridge, Il., eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Noah and Ruth Cameron Douthitt, first wife; Donna McFarland Douthitt and a son; Phillip Douthitt. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with Bro. Tony Sayre officiating. Interment will follow in the Wingo Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour on Monday at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 26. The Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield is in charge of arrangements.
