In 2019, my husband and I updated our burial plan to allow us to be interred in the Celebration of Life Center in glass niches due to security issues. By setting up my own memorial page, this will release the burden from my children of how I want my obituary to be written after my passing. I am dealing with cancer for the 4th time and currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation to hopefully slow down the cancer growth and live for another 5-10 years but we will see what happens.

My bio...

Guinevere Eileen (Sinichko) Murphy was born to the late Christopher and Peggy Anne (Greene) Sinichko in Idaho Falls, Idaho on March 15, 1970. She was the oldest of two children and was a Navy Military Brat for 6 years before her father got an honorable discharge from the military and moved to Bakersfield, CA for the rest of her life. Guin attended Williams Elementary School where she excelled in her academic subjects and learned to play the clarinet at the suggestion of her teacher. Guin was able to join the school choir and play in the orchestra which she dearly loved. At graduation time, Guin was awarded the prestigious Dr. Juliet Thorner Award for Academic Excellence and being the "Model Student" among her peers. Guin and her sister, Felicia, were also involved in ballet classes during their elementary and junior high school years to keep us busy after our school work was finished.
Guin also attended Compton Junior High School where she excelled in all her subjects and was able to continue practicing the clarinet and eventually joined the marching band where she eventually obtained the position of 1st chair in the clarinet section of the band which she was extremely proud of.
Guin next attended East Bakersfield High School where she excelled in her regular subjects including many business. She was also given the opportunity to take classes from Bakersfield College along with her high school classes concurrently to hopefully obtain my associate degree at the same time as my high school diploma. During this time, Guin was able to obtain a part-time job and earn her drivers' license to help pay for her school expenses like going to formals or the yearly school pictures without the financial help of her parents, which she was very proud of. She was given the opportunity to graduate mid-term which she took advantage of and with maintaining a status of being in the top 10% of her class, she earned a white stole to wear at graduation in June 1988 with her high school diploma having graduation date as January 1988.

Sometime after graduation, Guin gave birth to her first daughter, Mary Elisabeth (Jan 17, 1990) and a year later, Guin have birth to her 2nd daughter, Natasha Julianne with parental assistance from her parents.
For the first 7 years of both of my daughters' lives, she struggled at being the perfect parent. She had to request the assistance of other family members to help her out with taking care of her daughters, which she was not proud of, but they were willing to assist whenever needed.

In 1999, she met her future husband, William Murphy, at one of her job interviews. William and Guin started dating a month later and soon after, Guin introduced William to her daughters and her parents as well. Guin's dad, Chris, approved of William after several lunch meetings and William spending time with Guin & the girls at the home of Guin's parents and going to different places with William. Guin moved out of parents home December 1999 and got married to William in October 2001.
In September 1999, Guin started working for Home Depot on Sillect Avenue as a 2nd job as a part-time switchboard operator and was offered full-time status as a cashier in June 2000. Guin was able to stop working her 1st job in June 2001 when her job position was eliminated. Guin continued to work for Home Depot getting promoted to different positions until August 2009 when she found out that she had breast cancer and had to undergo chemotherapy for 6 months & was able to return to work for 6 more months and the breast cancer returned in September 2009. She underwent more chemo for another 6 more months & then Guin was able to return to work. In February 2019, her cancer returned for the 4th time and she was forced to go on Leave of Absence from her job.

Guin is predeceased by her maternal & paternal grandparents, her father, Christopher Sinichko, her brother-in-Law, David Murphy, her mother & father-in-law, Helen & Harley Murphy. Guin is survived by her Husband, William; Daughters, Mary & Natasha; Mother, Peggy Sinichko; Sister, Felicia Chandler; Brothers-in-Law, Donald Murphy & James Chandler, & numerous nieces and nephews.
