Man Dies Of Injuries
Hollis R Abbott, 63, an Anna area farmer, died Sunday in Union County hospital of injuries suffered in an Aug. 12 auto accident. Mr. Abbott was a passenger in a car driven by his son Hollis S. Abbott, when it collided with another car on Rt. 14 Three other persons were injured in the accident. Funeral services for Mr. Abbott will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Norris and Son Funeral Home, Jonesboro. The Rev. Waller M. Bartels of First Baptist Church in Anna will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Forest Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today. Mr. Abbott was born July 1, 1903. in St. Cloud. Minn . the son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Abbott. He moved to the Anna area 17 years ago. He leaves his wife. Ruth; a daughter, Leota Roach of Elgin; sons, Hollis S. and Paul L.. both of Anna; a brother, Clayton of Chicago; sister. Edith Sivesind of Portland. Ore. and four grandchildren.
