Maurice was the son of David McCormick and Ellen Jane (Hendricks) Ward. He married Mary Gladys Murray about 1917. They were the parents of four children; Maurice Andrew Ward (Killed in the battle of Midway), Mary Eileen Ward (d.y.), William Earl and Ellen Jane Ward. He was employed for 35 years at the Davey Portland Cement Co., Kansas City, KS. When he died he was the treasurer and office manager. According to his Missouri death certificate he died of a heart attack. He was buried on 09 Jan 1958 in the Mt. Olivet cemetery in Kansas City, Jackson, KS.
