Frances “Fran” Merle Johnson, 87, of Eldorado, Kansas, formerly of Salisbury, MO, died Friday, July 17, 2020 at Catholic Care Center in Wichita, Ks. Fran was born May 10, 1933 in Canon City, Colorado the daughter of David Merle and Florence (Sherrard) Wilson. She married Sam Fielding Johnson on June 26, 1955, and he preceded her in death on June 16, 1991.
Frances was a graduate of Canon City High School. She attended Bethany College in Linsborg, KS and Central Methodist College in Fayette, MO. Fran was a homemaker, and taught school at Salem Lutheran for 7 years. Frances was a member of the First Christian Church and First Baptist Church in Salisbury. She was a music lover, taught piano lessons and youth choir at First Christian Church. She was an active member of the PEO, and several music and educational organizations.
Fran is survived by a son Stephen (Gina) Johnson of Hays, KS, a brother David John Wilson of Pueblo, CO, two grandsons Caleb Johnson, Cooper Johnson and 4 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation is Monday, July 27, 2020 from 10-11:00 a.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury, with graveside services following at 11:30 at the Asbury Cemetery south of Keytesville, MO.
