Resident of Decatur 10 years Dies in Hospital
Short funeral services for John Leonard Bowman, 76, of 861 West Macon street, who died at 12:40 a.m. Saturday in St. Marys hospital after a long illness, will be held in the Brintlinger & Sons chapel at 1 p.m. Monday, followed by graveside services at 2:30 p.m. in the Mound cemetery at Oconee. Rev. Walter Obermeyer of Decatur will have charge.
Mr Bowman came to Decatur from Aurora 10 years ago. five years after his retirement as an employe of the Michigan Central railroad. Most of his life was spent in Oconee where he was a member of the Lutheran church. He made his home here with his niece, Mrs C.S. Fuller, 861 West Macon street.
Three sisters and two brothers preceded Mr. Bowman in death. He leaves the following nieces and nephews; Mrs. Fuller, Mrs G. W. Reed, Mrs C.L.Smith, Decatur; Mrs. C.W. VanInwegen, Gary Ind. and F.A.Morris of Decatur, He also leaves a step- brother , John Roth of Oconee. The body was taken to the Brintlinger funeral home where friends may call.
