John J. Abbs After a long illness and a valiant fight, John left this world, free of pain, on March 31, 2007. He was born in Rochester, NY in 1940, married Peggy and came to Tucson in 1961. He was affiliated with IBEW #570 for 30 years and involved in many projects. He was most proud of his work on the Central Arizona Project and his role in re-organizing the local in his position as Labor Organizer before his retirement in 1997. He is preceded in death by parents, John and Pauline Abbs. Survived by wife, Peggy ("Gucci"); sons, John and Casey; grandson, Travis ("Tino"); sisters, Pauline Davidson and Marie Abbs; brother, Bill De Croce; nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and many friends. He was a loving husband, good dad, great "Bampa", friend, brother and loyal Democrat. His passion, enthusiasm and appreciation for life will be greatly missed. We feel pride in the legacy left by someone so special. That spirit will continue to shine, lighting the way for others, leaving us all an example to follow and a remarkable life to remember with grateful hearts. Memorial service 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at St. John on the Desert Presbyterian Church, 2695 N. Houghton Rd. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
