Dwight was a member of Doctors Fork Baptist Church as well as a decorated Vietnam Veteran having served with the United States Marine Corp where he was awarded The Purple Heart.
Dwight enjoyed his time as a band dad, being very active with the Boyle County Marching Rebels which continued for two generations. He considered all the band kids as his own.
He was a very giving person and truly loved everyone. He was a true friend and a go to person. He would go above and beyond to help someone in need, which included letting people live rent free, donating cars to those who were down on their luck, as well as giving generous tips to waitresses he felt needed a little extra help. He routinely checked on his friends and they knew he was only a phone call away. Dwight has never known a stranger and called everyone his friend and most of his friends he considered family.
In addition to his wife Linda, he was survived by his son and his wife, Jeff and Tiffany Conley of Nicholasville, his daughter and her husband, Kimberly and Aaron Jones of Danville, and five grandchildren: Jordan and Piper Conley, Phoebe Stocker, Morgan and Matthew Jones. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and let us not forget his beloved dogs, Willie and Molly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, A.J. Conley.
To celebrate Dwight's life, there will be a casual, outdoor, socially distanced celebration, remembering the life of Dwight N. Conley. The family will be receiving friends Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020 from 12:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the H.P. Bottom House, 1438 Hayes-Mayes Road, Perryville, Kentucky.
The family requests expressions of sympathy to the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society.
W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home, Hustonville is in charge of arrangements.
