Mr. Charlie B. “Buddy” Garner, 84, of Gay, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at his home.

Mr. Garner was born March 1, 1936, in Meriwether County, son of the late Johnny Ralph Garner and Mable Lee Garner. A resident of Gwinnett County for many years, he owned and operated Norcross Heating and Air prior to his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed working with youth, coached little league baseball for many years, and was a former president of Dixie Youth Baseball in Gwinnett County. Mr. Garner was a Past Master and a member of Norcross Lodge #228, was awarded his 50-year Masonic pin at Greenville Lodge #321, and was a Shriner. He loved animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed hunting, photography, and restoring old pictures.

Survivors include his wife, Orlene Garner of Gay; daughters, Cheryll (Rick) Cotten of Lawrenceville, Cindy (Mike) Wilson of Senoia; son, Chuck Garner of Gay; grandchildren, Melissa Taylor, Jeffrey Cotten, Tricia (Matt) Stockwell, Trinia Garner, Tristan Garner; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Lynda Faye (Randall) Fowler of Athens, Brenda Lee (Ashton) Lafargue of Alpharetta, Robyn Bond of Abbeville, SC; brother, Gary (Rebekah) Garner of Gay; sisters in-law, Marleen McCulloch, Thelma Porter, Charlotte (Joe) McCulloch; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Layne Garner; grandson, Casey Allen Jones; and brother, Johnny Frank Garner.
