Michael J. Lamana, formerly of Catonsville, passed away on March 7, 2013, in Greenwich,
Connecticut after a long illness. Mike was the son of John and Eleanor Lamana. He lived
in Catonsville for 35 years and was a graduate of the class of 1965 of Catonsville Senior
High School and received his BA degree from University of Baltimore. Mike left Baltimore
in May 1980 and started his professional journey working for Becton Dickinson, Ciba
Geigy Corporation and eventually retired from Vantico, a division of Ciba in 2003. Mike
was a Vice-President and Chief Administrative Officer at the time of his retirement. Mike is
survived by his wife of 33 ½ years, Jayne (nee George), and their two children Bryan and
Lindsay Lamana. He is also survived by his mother, Eleanor Lamana of Ellicott City, his
sister Linda Amos and her husband Edward of Ellicott City, his niece Lauren Sandy and
her husband Steve and daughter Stella of Richmond, Virginia, his niece Kristin Lowry and
her husband John of Eldersburg, his niece Alison Lamana of Ellicott City, and his nephews
Ryan and Nicholas Lamana of Ellicott City. He was pre-deceased by his father John who
owned the Catonsville Shell Station, and his brother Thomas who owned Lamana’s Auto
Repair in Paradise. Funeral services were held in New York. A memorial service will be
held on Saturday, March 23 at Hubbard Funeral Home, 4107 Wilkens Avenue. The family
will receive friends from 10 am to 12 noon and memorial service to follow. Memorial
