She was the daughter of Ira and Almira Davidson Willard.
On Mar 9, 1847, she married James Duane Pitcher. By this marriage she had five children:
1. Mary Elmira Pitcher (twin) b. Jan 8, 1848 d. Oct 4, 1889
2. Ellen J. Pitcher (twin) b. Jan 8, 1848 d. unknown (this child shows up identified as the twin of Mary in the 1855 census, but then she disappears with no more mention)
3. Horace Duane Pitcher b. Sept 29, 1849 d. Dec 11, 1864
4. Cornelia Isabelle Pitcher b. May 10, 1852 d. Aug 6, 1868
5. Lizzie Willard Pitcher b. Feb 4, 1856 d. Jul 27, 1868
