Wanda Hillman Warren

Wanda Hillman Warren, 84, of Cary, N.C., formerly of Wurtland, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 23, 1930, in Ashland, to the late James and Anna Fouts Bridges.
She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Bert Hillman Jr. in 1992, Johnny Warren in 1992 and Charles Kouns in 2008; a daughter, Dixie Hillman, in 1980; a son, Roger Hillman, in 1992; brothers Clarence Bridges and Robert Bridges; and sisters Hazel Greene, Millie Cavnaugh and Ruth Knight.
Wanda was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a member of Old Steam Missionary Baptist Church, where she participated in the Ladies Auxiliary. She loved gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, sewing and crocheting, but most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her loving son, Gary (Patty) Greene of Wurtland; three daughters, Brenda (John) Coldiron of Ashland, Zonda Hillman of Cary and Colonel Cathy Iler of Woodbridge, Va.; stepdaughters Carolyn and Karen; step-grandchildren Brian and Andy; and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today, July 1, 2015, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Burial will be in Palmer Cemetery in Flatwoods. Condolences may be sent to carmanfuneral.com.
