Honoria Maria Mutuc married
Eugene Boyd Cheesman (1886-1954)
on the 20th of November 1921, in
Pampanga Province, Philippines
and established a plantation with
her husband where their grew bananas,
mangos, pineapples, sugar.
They also bred and raised racing horses,
cattle, pigs, fowl and other live stock.
She was captured with her husband
and sons in early 1942 by invading
Imperial Japanese forces and imprisoned
at Santo Tomas Prison in Manila.
She remained in Santo Prison with her
family for over two years when they
were rescued in a daring commando
raid by Allied Forces in 1944.
after the war the family returned to
their "Cheesman Plantation" near
Pampanga in Pampanga Province only to
find it in ashes having been destroyed
by the Japanese invaders.
She immigranted to the United States
with a son and U.S. born husband in 1953
and settled in Seattle, Washington.
Honoria Maria (Mutuc) Cheesman
died on the 7th of July and was buried
beside her late husband at Holyrood
Catholic Cemetery.
