She married on 08 July 1834 her cousin Leopold Joachim Beer, the son of Joachim Isaak Löw Beer (1768-1845). After her husband's death, she lived in London, England to be near her sons Julius and Arnold. After Sophia's death her remains were transported back to Frankfurt and buried next to her husband, per her wishes.

The Observer announces the death of Mrs. Beer, which took place suddenly on Christmas Day, at her residence, 11, Devonshire Place, London. Mrs. Beer was the widow of the late Leopold Beer, of Frankfurt, and she only survived by a few months her two sons, Mr. Julius Beer and Dr. Arnold Beer, who both died in the course of the present year.
