DOROTHY PAYNE
Dorothy Payne, age 84, of the Lake 13 area of Farwell passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2004 at the Tendercare Nursing Home of Clare. Dorothy was born the daughter of Vernon and Ada (Spaulding) Hazen on January 12, 1920 in Garden.
She met Robert McCormick and they were married in 1935. To this marriage was born an only child, Phyllis Norean in 1936. Dorothy was also married to Floyd Tyler and Gerald Payne, with Gerald predeceasing her in 1995. In 1997 she met Clarence Haber, her significant other for the past seven years. Dorothy was a member of the Clare Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Clare Moose Lodge and the VFW of Inverness, FL.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Phyllis (Buddy) Campbell; grandsons Robert (Linda) Randall, Raymond (Ruth) Miller and Charles (Jami) Miller; step-grandson Brian (Lucia) Campbell; nine great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents and brothers Glenn and Roger.
A memorial service will take place on Friday, October, 29, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Bromley officiating. (The Clare county Review, p. 12 – Clare, MI – 29 October 2004)
