VanDamme, Lawrence Thomas - Age 99, of Brighton, passed away August 20, 2021. Lawrence was born December 22, 1921 in Detroit, the son of Emil and Zulma (D'Hondt) VanDamme. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp, serving in WWII. He was a graduate of U of D Mercy. Mr. VanDamme retired from Chrysler and was a member of UAW Local #889. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and GSFA. Lawrence enjoyed camping, rock hounding and genealogy. He is survived by his children, James (Mary Margaret) of NY, John (Nadyne) of WA, Stephen of Germany, Gregory (Maria) of IL, Michael of CA, Thomas (Marilyn), Anne and Mary all of MI; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice (Grenon) VanDamme. Lawrence was a loving father and grandfather. He will be missed and will remain forever in our hearts.
