Terry graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1955 as an RN, Ball State University in 1975 with a Degree in Nursing, Chapman University with a Master's in 1984. Terry joined the USAF in 1963 serving overseas and stateside. She retired in 1984 as Lieutenant Colonel. After retiring she was a nurse for Fort Worth ISD. Terry was a member of Lighthouse Church, Society of Air Force Nurses, Inc., MOAA, and Eastern Star.
