Malian Politician. He served as his country's fifth president for two terms, from September 4, 2013 until August 18, 2020 and as its sixth prime minister from February 4, 1994 until February 15, 2000. He was also the president of the National Assembly from September 16, 2002 until September 3, 2007. He founded the centre-left political party, Rally for Mali in 2001. On August 18, 2020 he was removed from office by Malian Armed Forces and resigned the following day. He was married to Keïta Aminata Maiga and had four children.
