Athlete. He was an Olympic athlete that took part in the 1960 Rome games and the 1967 Winnipeg games bringing home the silver medal from both events in the Discus throw. At one time he was a world record holder in the event. During his high school years he took part in football, basketball and baseball in addition to track and field. He continued to compete as a discus thrower until 1969, when he retired to devote himself to various business pursuits.
