Leroy Edward Vernetti, 49, died at Adventist Hospital in Littleton, Colorado on September 15, 2021. He was born on January 12, 1972, in Jacksonville, Florida to James and Nancy (Parker) Vernetti.

Notably, he attended the World Boy Scout Jamboree in Sydney, Australia from December 30, 1987, through January 10, 1988. He was an Eagle Scout.

Leroy attended Western State College for a short time, then became a seminarian for a year. He joined the USMC in 1993 and received an honorable discharge. After the Marine Corps, Leroy lived in many cities across many states before finally settling in Colorado.

Leroy was a very compassionate man and had many friends throughout the United States. He earned a master's degree in psychology and was a psych-therapist in Colorado Springs.

Leroy was very close to his niece, Ashley Hoover; nephews, Conrad Rosenbaum and Joey Vernetti, as well as Joey's mother, Michelle Vernetti.

He is survived by his parents; sister, Dorothy (Richard) Hoover; brothers, James Paul, Joseph John (Catherine); nieces, Ashley Hoover and Frankie Lucas; nephews, Conrad Rosenbaum, Phillip Midgett, James Michael Vernetti, Loki Vernetti; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Leroy was preceded in death by his nephew, Joseph Milton Vernetti; grandparents, Milton and Dorothy Parker; and Joseph and Hazel Vernetti.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Lakeside Cemetery (Veterans) in Canon City, Colorado.
