Vicki Ilene Bishop, 71, of La Porte, IN, passed away from Covid related complications at Northwest Health Hospital in La Porte on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. She left this world peacefully and surrounded by family and lifelong friends.

Vicki was born December 20, 1950, in Corbin, KY. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Lula (Mobley) Smith; husband, Clarence Daniel Bishop; and stepson, Kenneth Bishop.

She is survived by her son, Frederick (Amanda) Bishop of Navarre, FL; daughter, Tracy (Matt) Hand of Kingsford Heights; best friend and partner of forty years, Mildred Edwards of La Porte; six grandchildren, Justin Bishop, Nathan Bishop, Jordan Downs, Tristan Hand, Justice Cox, and Sarah Cox; brother, William "Carl" (Sue) Smith of La Porte; sister, Peggy (Daniel) Reeder of Corbin, KY; stepchildren, Karen (Clifton) Snyder of La Porte and Robert (Linda) Bishop of New Albany, MS; as well as many very special and much loved extended family members and friends.

Vicki had a fierce spirit, an incredible zest for life, a kind heart, and a witty sense of humor that could brighten the darkest days of anyone in her presence. She never met a stranger and always had room in her home and at her table for anyone in need. She loved her family and friends beyond measure.

Vicki was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, La Porte Chapter 280. She enjoyed playing Bunco and especially enjoyed camping and spending time with friends at the Little Creek Campground in Rensselaer.

Visitation will be held at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2022, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 4 p.m. Burial will take place on Monday, February 14, 2022, 10 a.m. at Patton Cemetery, La Porte.

Memorial donations may be made to the family c/o Tracy Hand, 2900 Monroe Street, La Porte, IN 46350 or to the donor's choice.
