Olympic and Commonwealth Games Champion. He was an Australian cycling champion at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics in the Team pursuit event, winning Gold. He also completed in the 1988 Seoul Olympics winning Silver in the individual event and Bronze in the team pursuit event, then in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics winning a Bronze in the team pursuit event. In the Commonwealth Games he competed in the 1986 games where he won two Gold medals and one Silver and in 1994 he brought home one Gold and one Bronze from the games. He established and worked at a bicycle shop, Dean Woods Direct, at Wangaratta but later sold it.
