HAYNEVILLLE, Ala., Dec. 6 (AP) A Negro truck driver was shot to death near Lowndesboro Thursday night, Lowndes county Sheriff O. C. Moorer said today, and a white man, Clarke Luckie of Braggs, Ala., has been arrested on charges of killing him. Moorer said Luckie admitted shooting the Negro, who was identified as Elmore Bolling, 39, explaining he did so because the Negro insulted his wife. Luckie was arrested on murder charges early Friday, and released on $2,500 bond, pending grand jury action. John Loveless, operator of a Montgomery funeral home where Bolling's body was taken, said the Negro had been shot half a dozen times with a pistol, and once in the back with a shotgun. The funeral director said he was notified by Deputy Sheriff J.H. Jackson, Jr., that Bolling had been killed, and said he picked up the body in a ditch just off Highway 80 near Lowndesboro.
