Bill graduated from Classen High School in 1950. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he received a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon following his father, who was in the first SAE pledge class at OU. He fulfilled his obligation serving in the U.S. Army. He practiced a career in Engineering becoming certified as a Professional Engineer in the state of Oklahoma.
He enjoyed his hobby ranch, the "Easy W", where he raised cattle and hosted family gatherings. Bill loved driving his decorated '57 T-bird in 4th of July parades in Nichols Hills, Edmond, and Old Farm. He was an avid traveler visiting all 7 continents during his life.
Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Holloway Wells; daughter Mollie Davids (husband Robert), son Stephen Wells (wife Trish), 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and nephew, Jim Rea. Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Susanne Wells Blinn.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church, 1212 Bedford Dr, Nichols Hills, OK 73116.
