The body of Mrs. Carrie Steyer was found, five months after she drowned in the Ohio, at the mouth of Seven-Mile Creek, above Metropolis. Her father-in-law drowned and her husband was seriously injured three days after Mrs. Steyer's death, while attempting to raise her body with dynamite. She was identified with her wedding ring and shoes. Burial was in IOOF.
