Albright, Michael J., 44, of Sunrise finally reached his pain free destination on October 18th after a courageous 19-year battle with Neurofibromatosis Type 2.

Mike was born in Kingston, NY to Joseph and Roberta (Bobbie) Albright. He spent four years in the Air Force as a communication specialist before working with Motorola in Connecticut. Mike worked for Racal Milgo and NextiraOne as a software engineer in Sunrise until 2005.

He was well known for his unique sense of humor, his superb computer skills and love of all animals especially his devoted cats, Michgi, Myles and Amber.

His determination to remain as independent as possible helped give all the people who knew him more strength in their own lives. Although Mike was completely deaf for the last nine years, he was a great listener; the world has lost a very special guy!

Mike is survived by his wife of 19 years Nancy (Spaulding); mother, Roberta; sister, Stephanie (Doug, Jason, Kim) Aho; and brother, Stanley. Supportive family in the local area also includes his aunts, Jackie Zehnder, Katie Schoch and cousins, Crystal, Brandon and Danny Zehnder, Robin, Felix and Michelle Hechevarria and Blaze Zehnder.

Many thanks to all the wonderful friends with us through the years; good friends are truly angels on earth!

Nancy sends a special thank you to the extremely devoted staff at Vitas Hospice Team #148 for making his last days the best they could be and to her coworkers at HealthSouth Sunrise Rehabilitation Hospital for their phenomenal support during this difficult time.

The Neptune Society will handle cremation services. A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held at his home in Sunrise on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 5-9 PM. The family requests any donations in Mike's name, be made to the Humane Society of Broward County or Vitas.
