February 27, 1945 - August 16, 2022
Robert Roscoe Smith, Son of Parker Smith and Mary Alice Smith Warren, was born February 27, 1945. Robert grew up in the White Mountain community then moved with his family to Lake City Tennessee where he graduated high school. After graduating, Robert joined the army and served abroad in Germany for two years. After the army, he resided in Chicago, where he met the love of his life Kathleen Ewing. Robert and Kathleen were married on February 8, 1965 and relocated to Fort Wayne Indiana where Robert was employed as a Supervisor at B.F. Goodrich. In 1978, a strong commitment to family drew Robert, Kathleen, and their two young daughters back to Hulen, Kentucky. After resettling, Robert was seriously injured while working as a coal miner in 1985. In spite of his injuries he was determined to provide a better life for his family. After months of rehabilitation, with the help of his wife they opened a successful business, Bluegrass Satellite and Video, from which they both retired in the early 2000s.

After retirement, Robert loved spending quality time on his patio with his family, friends, and pets. He also greatly enjoyed watching old westerns.

While surrounded by his two daughters and son-in-laws, Robert, age 77, was called to his eternal home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ following a valiant battle with leukemia on August 16, 2022
