PLEASANT GARDEN- Donald Allen "Don" Chilton, 52, passed away at his home on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.

Don was born in Winston-Salem, N.C., the son of Gilbert W. and Lucille Watkins Chilton. He worked as a machinist with Gilbarco Inc. for more than 29 years. He took great pride in his work and loved his job. He loved his family and enjoyed the time spent with them. Don liked to work on cars and required perfection in all that he did. He was of the Baptist faith.

Don was preceded in death by his father.

Surviving are his loving wife, Sandy Ann Vance Chilton of the home; mother, Lucille W. Chilton of Greensboro; son, Donald Allen Chilton Jr. of Greensboro; brother Ken Chilton and wife Pam of Greensboro; niece and nephew, Jennifer Ridgeway and husband Chris and Gary Chilton and wife Jenny; and his two babies, "Bam Bam," and "Prissy."

Memorials in Don's memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
