Vernon W. Krueger, 89, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born December 12, 1923 in Elgin, Texas to Oscar Sr., and Ida Marie Krueger. Vernon was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a proud WWII, US Army Veteran. He was a self-employed welder and rancher. He was a great cook and gardener. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Oscar and Pete; sisters, Irene and Margie; infant sister, Gladys; granddaughter, Melissa and great-grandson, Haylon. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; sons, Gary (Susan), Danny (Patty), Kenneth (Sue) and Stevie; daughters, Suzy, Brenda (Mando), Nancy (Bobby) and Elizabeth (David); grandchildren, Jason, AJ, Michael, Christopher, Amy, Jennifer and Annie; great-granddaughter, Caydence; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home.Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, interment is to follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Skippy, Daryl, AJ, Dave Boy, Christopher and Michael. Condolences may be offered at www.memorygardensfuneralhome.com.
