Joseph Watkins, age 88, died at the Home of his son McKinley Watkins in the Orchard addition, Saturday morning following a long and lingering illness,
Mr. Watkins suffered a stroke of paralysis a few years ago, and since that time has been an invalid.
The deceased had been a resident of this county for several years and served with the Federal Forces in the Civil War.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Lewis Doss at the home of his son, McKinley Watkins, Sunday afternoon. Internment was at the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
Mr. Watkins is survived by several children, a host of friends and relatives.
